A Note from Your New Chairman

I look forward to 2007 - 2008 being a stellar year for the Greater Boston Young Republicans.  I look forward to working with Peter Torkildsen and the rest of the team at the MassGOP to help with the upoming Special Election in the 5th Congressional District, as well as helping with the 2008 presidential election.

The focus of my term as chair will be membership recruitment and fundraising, which build off of each other.  Towards that goal, I have pledged $100  for a "Member-get-a-Member" program.  Until August 31, 2007 the dues paid member, who is responsible for the most new dues paid members signing up (members from 2006 who have not paid 2007 dues don't count towards this goal) gets a $100 gift certificate to Ruths Chris.  "Go forth and multipy our ranks".

Towards the membership goal, I would also like to start regular "snail mail" recruitment efforts.  This will take money.  it averages about $0.45-$0.55 per piece to print and mail communications.  So I'm asking all of you to please consider donating $25, $50, $100 or more towards this cause.  You can donate online  by clicking the join tab above.

Your new board recently met and is planning many events and meetings.  Stay tuned for more info.

Who We Are

The Greater Boston Young Republicans (GBYRs) is a group of young, Boston-area professionals aged 18 to 40, who are interested in political activism and networking with like-minded individuals. The Greater Boston Young Republicans hold monthly meetings and socials, volunteer for local community service projects and participate in local and national Republican campaigns. GBYRs are involved as campaign managers, treasurers and the like for local Republican candidates, are officials within the Massachusetts Republican party and are candidates themselves. Many GBYRs go on to become elected officials and leaders within the Republican party. Networking within the GBYRs provides members the opportunity to meet Republican officials and candidates and get experience working on political campaigns.

The GBYRs are a part of the statewide YR organization, the Massachusetts Federation of Young Republicans (MFYR), and the Young Republican National Federation (YRNF). The YRNF is the nation's oldest and largest youth political society.
